bleugh! part 10

  1. i simply cannot stand seeing policemen standing, i repeat STANDING makan gaji buta by the road, doing nothing when there is traffic to be manned, especially at Pekeliling area in the morning. i swear to you i jeling at them this morning because traffic was like hell but what did they do? nothing. bloody hell. i'm sure one of them saw me jeling at them (but after that cuak because they might note my car registration number haha). another spot is the Duta roundabout in the evening. seriously, if only looks could kill...
  2. where the hell are DBKL and/or the police? i hate passing through Jalan Yap Kwan Seng especially in the morning and in the evening (but I have no choice) because there are cars parked by the roadside, in front of the kedai mamak which is obviously marked yellow line and with a "no parking" sign. there is a police booth but of course, they just sit there makan gaji buta. who cares if they are not the traffic police but go and saman these a**holes lah. it is obvious that they are obstructing the traffic. Duuuhhh!
  3. so the police are makan-ing gaji buta, the DBKL, on the other hand, is probably makan rasuah. The reason I am saying this (and I am not striking through the words) is because the road leading to Jalan Pinang from Jalan Yap Kwan Seng is left from three lanes to one lane simply because the drivers of some big taikos will park their big a** shiny cars by the roadside, which is of course marked yellow line waiting for their taikos to come out from the office/meeting/quickie etc. and then there were big a** bas persiaran eating up the whole road while waiting for the tourists to finish their shopping and sightseeing. To top things off, taxis will double park and also will stop the moment they see a victim potential passenger. Without giving signal, of course.

Tak pasal2 buat dosa kering hari2.

to de-stress, i had these.

On a happier note, the sis is coming back tomorrow weeehooo! I can’t wait to see the stuffs that she got me her and stress over the wedding preps do girly stuffs together!

weekend project part 10

When one of my best friends decide to tie the knot, I got together with my two other best friends and we came up with a plan to have a bachelorette party last weekend. Nothing kinky and/or naughty took place unfortunately but we had a fabulous time. We ordered the bride to be a box of lovely cupcakes bearing the words "AIMI BRIDE TO BE." initially we wanted to have kinky, naughty and saucy designs (which I shall leave to your imagination) but unfortunately due to the sensitivity of their customers, the cupcake person denied our request. pfft. So we had to settle with a typical simple yet sweet wedding design to suit the theme, which consists of a white wedding gown, a black tuxedo, wedding rings, a white dove, a bouquet of flowers and some love designs. Details of the ‘party’ are as follows and the rest, I shall let the pictures do the talking.

Date: Saturday, 19 July 2008
Time: 8.30pm till late
Venue: Flaming Steamboat and Borneo Rainforest, Bandar Sunway
Event: Aimi's bride-to-be bachelorette party
Theme: Black and Pink
Attendees: Aimi the bride-to be, Iza, Susan and Yours Truly

i have succumbed

i heard on radio that Wednesday 16th July 08 was hari tidak berbelanja(?) whatever. so people are advised not to buy anything at all on that particular day. so i thought, ok, I shall not buy anything today (except for Hellboy tickets-which i slept through the first half an hour or so! and a bowl of Taiwan Noodle that is). as i was walking by Isetan's supermarket, lo and behold! i saw this.
guess how much it was retailed at? RM 11.90. normal price was RM14.50 i think. so i just HAD to buy. these people are clever. why do they have to sell at a cheap price on the hari tidak berbelanja, of all days?

screw the nutrition facts.

the cookies in all their glory.

in my defence, i need it to keep me sane on the road what with the terrible jam everywhere, no thanks to abang-abang and pakcik-pakcik polis yang berdiri tercegat dan buat-buat penting and busy di jalan-jalan roadblocks and whatnot. see, us rakyats suffer from the political games that they are playing! i am so blaming the authorities for this.

weekend project part 9

my weekend project always revolve around food. last weekend was no exception except that it wasn't a baking or a masak-masak project. instead, i had a fabulous dinner at Jogoya Japanese Restaurant in Starhill courtesy of Litefm. i haven't been entering and/or winning any contests of late but i guess i still have my lucky charm as i was selected as one of the lucky listeners for Lite & Easy's Dial & Dine. the contest is so simple. all you have to do is submit your particulars either by email, fax or through the website, provide a list of 10 songs and pray hard that your choice of songs are selected. i listen to Litefm a lot but on the day that they played my songs, i wasn't listening. mum and dad did and they heard the DJ say the name "Izyan" but they thought it couldn't possibly be me as the songs that i chose were like songs from the yesteryears and really2 old songs. i thought i didn't get the dinner invites until i receive a call from Litefm on thursday. initially i wanted to bring mum along but she had to attend a wedding boohoo. thought of taking the Boyfy because i lost the bet for Euro 2008, which i initiated pulak tu and had to belanja him dinner but then the Bestie happen to be in KL that weekend so Boyfy aside, Bestie in.

the spread was fantastic. you name it, they have it. they even have green tea Haagen Dazs ice-cream and a selection of Baskin Robbins ice-cream and gelato. the desserts-mochis, cookies, cakes and puddings. rambang mata! not to forget the free flow of red wine and a few cocktails and mocktails. we both ate until we couldn't eat anymore. also rubbed shoulders with DJs Ross, Rex and Sara. Rex is kinda cute actually and now when i listen to him on the radio, i imagined his face.

we later continued the night at Planet Hollywood and had a great time talking (eventhough we were speaking at the top of our lungs) and enjoying our drinks until we were approached by a Nigerian who came off a bit too strong that he scared the hell out of us (details shall not be disclosed here) so we had to 'escape' to the ladies' room and ended up taking vain pics of us. phew~

i don't wanna jinx my future chances of winning by saying this but just so you know, nasib baik main nombor, loteri, tikam, judi and the like is haram. if not, dah lama dah beli! but i don't mind helping you pick out a number or two though, provided that we split half-half, deal?

the side effect(s) of traffic jam

like it or not, everyone have to face, or rather brave traffic jam every single day. be it going to work or coming home from work. have you ever wondered what are the side effect(s) of a really bad traffic jam? well, when one was trapped and stuck, one's mind start to wonder. so these are, among others, the side effect(s) that i can list down as there are too many to list (besides cepat habis minyak of course):

  1. you get crammed legs, especially those who drive a manual car like yours truly;
  2. you get high blood pressure because you are tensed;
  3. you get bladder problem because when you are stuck, that's when Mother Nature starts calling;
  4. you pollute the air and also your lungs (some people wind down the screen to save fuel or when weather permits);
  5. you can start your own dictionary of vulgar words and curses;
  6. you become fat and obese and have diabetes.
fat and obese you say? well, i have evidences to support my case.

RAIN

OR SHINE

These are my peneman, these keep me sane on the road.

YUP, I ATE THE WHOLE THING ALL RIGHT.

THESE WERE BOUGHT AT A PETROL STATION AS THERE'S SOME PROMO GOING ON AND IT'S CHEAP.

A SLIGHTLY HEALTHIER OPTION

THIS BAG OF CHOCOLATEY GOODNESS WAS A COURTESY OF A CERTAIN SOMEONE (you know who you are ;P) WHO WENT TO LANGKAWI AND BOUGHT FOR ME WEEEHOOO. I AM ONE HAPPY BUNNY.

THESE ARE MY ATTEMPTS TO COOL THE CHOCS BY THE AIR COND. I HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO ANYWAY.

CAN I HAVE MORE OF THESE PLEASE? ANYONE GOING TO LANGKAWI ANYTIME SOON? OR DOES ANYONE WANNA GIVE ME CHOCCIES?
*batting eyelashes*

of course i did not finish everything in one day. i still have the granola bar, the milo combo duo and a handful of hershey's left (so sayang to eat as it is so yummy). but at the rate traffic is going on, it'll be gone in no time.

weekend project part 8

i always wonder why NTV7 shows Martha Stewart Show very late at night. more often than not i would watch it before going to sleep, with my lights off and all bundled up in my blankie. even though i feel sleepy, i would force myself to watch it because it always feature yummy cookings and easy-to-do recipes, which made me drool in the middle of the night. so one night i saw Martha baking Molten Chocolate Cake and my oh my I cannot tahan looking at the chocolatey goodness so i told myself, "i'm so gonna try making those." thank God for technology, i got the recipe from here. it is simple and easy to make, the ingredients are easily available and most importantly, they taste great.
add a dollop of whipped cream and you have a sinful dessert that will end up on your waist, hips, thighs and butt

unfortunately, it didn't really turn out as it should be. the inside of the cake should be oozing out when you eat it, thus the name Molten Chocolate Cake. i followed the recipe religiously so i have no idea what went wrong. perhaps my microwave oven was a bit too hot. never mind lah, as long as i get the chocolatey goodness out of it, i'm happy. i guess i'm gonna have to try it again next time.

to contribute to the expansion of my already huge waist, hips, thighs and butt, i also made lasagna. the lasagna sheets was bought some time ago but i never got to do it so off i went to get the cheese and other ingredients and voila!

BEFORE

AFTER

What's that sound i hear? oh, it's probably my thighs rubbing against each other. boohoo.

tribute to daddy

More often than not, people would ask me, how come you’re in private practice? Why didn’t you join judiciary? Why didn’t you follow you father’s footsteps? One person even said to me, “kalau I jadi you, mesti I dah jadi Majistret sekarang.” While some would tell me, “Mesti senang kan you nak deal dengan orang2 di court bila tengok nama bapak you.” Not really but yes, it has its ups and downs. I am proud to carry my dad’s name but that also means that I am carrying a heavy burden on my shoulder, especially in my profession. People would expect me to be at a certain level, their expectations would be so high and of course I couldn’t afford to screw up. In the event that I do (which I hope I won’t), not only will I be malu but my dad also will be malu! Someone once asked me, “your father garang tak di rumah? Di court memangla dia garang but di rumah?” To which I answered, “kalau tak garang, tak jadi orang la I adik beradik.”

So dad, Happy Father’s Day to you. Thank you for making me the person I am today. I think I get my garang-ness from him lah. heh~

not a weekend project

the last time i was in Cold Storage, i bought this genius little invention. this is a perfect invention as baking a real no-bake cheesecake would be such a hassle and requires a lot of time. read here under the post "my first". if you're in a hurry or intends to make a little treat for that special someone, this will definitely do the trick. you can always tell them that you baked it from scratch though.

it was not so smooth because the mixture has started to set. perhaps next time i should put the mixture in a piping bag and pipe it out on the little cups.

i presented this box to the Boyfy. i am such a model girlfriend. he better count his blessings. hahaha. as for the writings, go figure.

even though the box says it's a 'real cheesecake', nothing could beat a real real cheesecake. taste-wise, nice and yummy but not so cheesy. however, the Boyfy loved it and my brothers loved it so I'm happy. the whole box could make about 20 pieces i think but i only get to eat two pieces. alternatively you can prepare it in a baking dish.

this weekend's project will probably a hunting session for more genius inventions. =)

all the more reason

Some people say it is not good to hate Mondays since it is the Penghulu Hari. As much as I hate Mondays, I think somehow rather it is the matter of the mind. I mean, I could hate every other day if I want to, right? So I tried not to really hate Mondays and try to be positive but then fate has to play its part too. Just when I was starting to be positive, it had to happen on a Monday.

I came home yesterday only to find the maid missing. Missing as in disappear as in nowhere to be found, nowhere to be seen, nowhere to be traced, kapish. No wonder when I called home, nobody picked up the phone. I checked her room and none of her stuffs were there except for a blue ‘gucci’ towel. The good thing is, at least she didn’t leave the kitchen in a mess (except for a used frying pan ughhh) and had already picked up the clothes. These kinds of stories are always reported in the newspapers and now it happened to us. I dread to think about situations where the maid left the house and leave little kids all by themselves. So far, I don’t think anything major is missing, alhamdulillah. But then I won’t know because she might have picked some stuff that we are unaware of. The thought that somebody might have come by to the house to pick her and they may have duplicated the house keys sends shivers down my spine. It is surprising to know that she had made ‘friends’ (if at all, unless she’s so used to KL and knows where to go and how to get there) here because she has only been here for about 2 weeks. Apart from that, she said she’s worked in Sg. Petani back in the 90s. I guess these people can never be trusted. No matter how nice and well you treat them, they will somehow rather betray you, in one way or another. We have changed the house keys and I hope the house is safe. Now we have to go through the trouble all over again to get a new maid.

On top of that, lil bro’s handphone was snatched yesterday while walking from Pavilion to KLCC. I am sure that his life will no longer be the same without his phone on his hand, 24/7. This happened while he was walking while sms-ing. Heck, he’s always sms-ing anyway. It is indeed a tough lesson to learn. Unfortunately he did not get to see the motorcycle’s plate number as it happened so fast and he said the motorcycle was berasap. If only he had pulled back the phone strap slightly stronger, the pencopet could have fallen from his bike and he could beat him to death.

Yesterday also I literally mengamuk with the people from Streamyx as they said that we could not have internet connection due to the large number of people using it in our area and that they have limited number of ports(?). Now we are put on the waiting list and they can’t even tell me what number I’m on in the list. I was so pissed off that I told the person, “lebih baik awak dengar saya mengamuk kat telefon daripada saya pergi sana, mengamuk kat sana. Yang mana satu awak nak?” If they had told me in the very first place that the area can no longer have internet connection whatever, I wouldn’t have signed up and registered for the so-called combo, would I? It is simply ridiculous. Now they’re telling me that unless and until someone terminates their line, then only we can have ours, that is if we are number 1 on the waiting list. i am waiting for them to call me today and explain or else I'm so gonna serang TMpoint. just wait and see.

So there. And it all happened on a Monday. Of course, it was a coincidence.

nothing is free

…except dreams. For now, I can only dream about driving my dream car, which has somehow turned into a nightmare. Unless, I marry find a dying old filthy rich, multi-millionaire geezer, make sure he transfers all his worldly possessions into my name and then kill him die.

Of course, I am just kidding. Duuh. i told the Boyfy this so-called 'plan' of mine and that after I got all the worldly possessions, I will marry him. hahaha. alternatively, I suggested to him that we migrate to other parts of the world. he just shook his head. hahaha. the things he have to put up with, that poor guy. I told him this when i made him he teman me refill my tank the other day.

Terima Kasih negaraku tercinta. pfft. the least they can do to ease the rakyat's anger over the fuel price hike is to declare a public holiday on Monday in conjunction with the Agung's birthday tomorrow. those in favour, say aye!
